Butler Alpha Phi Sisterhood Retreat: The Chainsmokers Concert
As Director of Sisterhood for Butler Alpha Phi, I planned our Fall 2019 Sisterhood Retreat to Bankers Life Fieldhouse. After reaching out to The Chainsmokers' agency, we received access to the pre-show soundcheck, VIP general admission tickets, and memorabilia. We watched Lennon Stella, 5 Seconds of Summer, and The Chainsmokers perform. The night became even more memorable when a member of The Chainsmokers even gave us a shout out!
After the concert, I sent a review of the retreat to Alpha Phi International, resulting in earned media coverage from the Alpha Phi International Instagram page. The event was named one of Alpha Phi's Top 9 Events of 2019, and it even received coverage in the Summer 2020 Alpha Phi Quarterly.
Through planning this event, I learned the importance of early, consistent, and effective communication when managing relationships with external publics (The Chainsmokers PR team and Alpha Phi International) and internal publics (the 85+ members of my sorority who attended).
